Zakynthos is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea and a well-known destination for summer vacationers. The port city of Zakynthos, which stretches around the waterfront Solomos Square, is the island’s capital and main trading center. The island’s popular beaches, including Agios Nikolaos, Alykanas and Tsilivi, offer swimming and water sports. The sandy beach of Navagio can be reached by boat. Here lies a famous shipwreck that was stranded in the bay surrounded by cliffs in 1980.
